Meet Harli🐾❤️

Hi everyone❤️ I hope everyone is safe and well. Going through this lockdown with no end in sight is hard to deal with but trying to remain positive that better days are coming is key at this time. Take everything one day at a time and know that you are doing your very best🤗 This time can be so mentally draining for everyone, I have really been feeling it too. I'm sending so much love to anyone who is struggling❤️ You are never alone, I am only a message away if you ever need anything as always❤️

A very positive and uplifting post today. Me and my sister Ceara got a dog🐾❤️ Look how beautiful he is🥰 As you can tell from the title of the post, his name is Harli❤️ He is 3 months old. Usually Harli is spelt 'Harley' but one of his mom's is extra and wanted to spell it in a unique way😏 I'm sure you can guess who the extra mom is👀😂

He has been with us for 3 weeks now and he is settling in so well😁 Me and Ceara have always wanted a dog but our parents always said no👀 Three weeks ago, I texted Ceara and said that we should revisit the idea of getting a dog. Within 2 days we had looked online and found Harli. We both looked on dogs.ie and there were two dogs that we were looking at but after seeing a video of our dog, we knew we wanted him❤️ Our parents didn't know that we were going to get him though... we were just hoping for the best when we brought him home😂

Before I went to get him, I went to Maxi Zoo to buy all the things we would need for him. If you are thinking of buying a dog but you don't know what to get (like we didn't😂) the list I wrote may be helpful to you.

We bought him:

- A dog bed: We were originally going to cage train him and I bought the cage but he was too big for the cage and then he was too big for the bed I got him also😂 He was 2 months old when we bought him but he was bigggg for a 2 month old. He is very big for his age. I didn't realise how big he was until I went to get him and saw him🤣 So Ceara had to go get him a new bed and he doesn't sleep in that either because he is sleeping in my mom and dad's bed🤣

- A blanket for your dog

- A food and water bowl (non slip ones preferably): you can also get a mat to put the dog bowls on so that there is less mess

- Dog food: we use royal canin maxi puppy for Harli as that's the one he likes. Its trial and error with dog food but this one is recommended and is worth a try

- Dog treats: Treats also come in handy for training your dog

- Dog toys

- Dog collar and lead for walking

- Dog shampoo: we use one with no perfume in it for Harli

- Dog brush to comb him/her

- Toilet training pads

- Dog poo bags

Me and Lizzie went to get him on the Friday. The minute the man passed him to me and put him in my arms he looked up at me, put his head on my shoulder and I knew that we made the right choice to get him🥰 He was sooo good the whole way home in the car. However, he did try to bite Lizzie's hair, jumper and everything else a few times😂 Aunty Lizzie loves him though❤️😂 But most of the journey he slept for which was good😄

When me and Lizzie got back to my house and brought him inside, my mom and dad were shocked to say the least🤣 but within two days the whole family loved him and it was like he had always been here❤️ He even sleeps with my mom and dad😂 From telling us we couldn't have a dog all those years to letting him sleep with them, it really is funny how things work out🤣

I had a breakdown though when he first went to the toilet in the house, I literally cried and was so overwhelmed🤣 He is the smartest dog though, within 2 days he stopped going to the toilet in the house and he goes outside now😁 apart from a few accidents here and there but there hasn't been many at all. My sisters boyfriend Jordan has been training him and he has been doing an amazing job😁 Harli is so smart, he has been learning everything so quickly❤️ When it comes to going on walks, Ceara and Jordan walk him because he is a little shit when I try to take him out on my own🙄🤣 In fact, he is a little shit when I'm alone with him regardless🤣 He likes to chase me hahaha🤣 But he's a puppy so he will grow out of all of that and start listening to me, I hope🤣

He is the most amazing dog and despite his messing he is so well behaved😁 He is hyper to say the least but he is well behaved all the same. He wakes up really early in the morning most days around 5/6am but there are some days when he sleeps in. I think he wakes up and stays awake because that's the time my dads alarm goes off for work🤣 I know that his sleeping will get better with time. He hates being left alone, he always wants someone with him and when there's no one in the room even for a minute he cries🥺 His little cry breaks my heart but there is always someone with him as he is still getting used to his new environment. I know that with time he will learn these things😁

We are all so happy to have him here and we love him sooo much❤️ If you are thinking of getting a dog, do. They are honestly the best❤️
